Hi, I’m Sheethal Behari, Senior Clinical Psychologist with 14 years experience in my field. I am currently counseling at PsychMatters Family Centre in Bedfordview.

Insights

I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I trained at King George V Hospital, a tertiary psychiatric hospital in Durban and continued to work there for 9 years, where I obtained and gained valuable knowledge and experience.

I have extensive training and experience in geriatric, adult, adolescent and child assessment and psychotherapy.

I have lectured at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, training medical health practitioners. I have also supervised, trained and mentored other psychologists enabling them to excel in their field.

Interests

My areas of interest as a clinical psychologist encompasses a wide range of psychiatric disorders including, depression, anxiety, life/family stressors, bereavement, trauma, and personality issues.

In addition, I have a keen interest in working with children in play therapy and in neuropsychology.

I have extensive experience in providing medico-legal assessments and reports for traumatic brain injured patients and it is here that my passion lies.

I also provide assessments for disability grants.

In my personal time I absolutely love travelling, doing adventure, activities and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. I have joined the PsychMatters Team to assist all to live masterfully.
